Los Gatos Community Alliance (LGCA) – A Coalition for Responsible Development
We are a group of like-minded individuals who are willing to ensure that Los Gatos local government (council, commissions, committees, sub-committees, and staffers) apply a consistent, transparent evaluation and qualification criteria to all development projects so that all projects maintain the small town character of Los Gatos.
We believe that development must:
- Maintain the historic nature of Los Gatos
- Contribute to and enhance the natural beauty of the town, protecting and preserving the town’s scenic hillside backdrop
- Not overload the school system
- Not overburden current infrastructure (roads, sidewalks, power, sewage systems)
- Be sustainable (materials, energy usage, environmental impact)
- Balances new development with overall community benefit.
- Ensure fair and consistent distribution and balance of businesses across town such that it does not destroy the character and nature of the Central Business District between Main and Hwy 9, nor that on East Main between Santa Cruz Avenue and Loma Alta Avenue.
