I have sent the following letter to the Town Council as well as the staff as a follow up to a totally misleading Next Door Post that they posted, and closed off comments to, today. Why do you think they shut down the publics ability to comment on their biased, disingenuous article on Measure G?
To the Town Council and Town Staff,
The Citizen’s Ad Hoc Committee of 2016 objects to the implication the town has made that we would in anyway endorse the current Measure G. The way you have addressed the Citizens Committee with your Next Door “facts”, implying in the post that we would vote for Measure G today is blatantly misleading as well as disingenuous. Please review the attached, signed letter from all three of the Citizens Committee members rejecting the way you have implied that because two of us voted for it with the information fed to us at the time, but now educated in the real financial facts of the town’s financial position, that we would vote for this general tax Measure G.
We reject Measure G, and you should too. At the very least, please remove any reference to the Citizen’s Committee in your Next Door post. As mentioned, it is intentionally misleading the public that you serve.
Did they tell you that the 2016 council rejected the tax? Absolutely not. Somehow they missed that.
